How NCLEX Tutor works

A study loop designed around reasoning, not rote memorization. Here's exactly what happens when you open the app.

01

Answer an adaptive practice question

Every session starts with a practice question tailored to your level and weak areas. Questions are drawn from all eight NCLEX-RN content categories, including the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) format introduced in 2023. You get one focused question at a time — no distraction, no menu sprawl.

A nurse is caring for a client receiving digoxin. Which finding requires the nurse to hold the medication and notify the provider?

AHeart rate of 72 bpm
BHeart rate of 52 bpm
CBlood pressure of 118/72
DRespiratory rate of 16

See the clinical reasoning — not just the answer

After you answer, NCLEX Tutor reveals whether you were right or wrong — and immediately explains the clinical reasoning behind the correct choice. This isn't a copied textbook rationale. The AI explains how a nurse thinks through that scenario: the priority framework, the patient safety principle, the physiological logic. Understanding the reasoning is what transfers to questions you've never seen before.

AI Clinical Reasoning

Correct.Digoxin toxicity is a real risk — bradycardia (HR <60) is a classic sign. The therapeutic window is narrow. Holding the dose and notifying the provider prevents a potentially fatal arrhythmia.

Key principle: Always check apical pulse for 1 full minute before giving digoxin. Hold if <60 in adults.

Why not A? 72 bpm is normal and safe to administer.

Ask the AI tutor when you're still confused

Still fuzzy? Ask the built-in AI tutor to break it down differently. "Why is Option B wrong?" "Explain this like I'm new to nursing." "Teach me the underlying concept." The tutor is available 24/7 and has full context of the question you just answered — no need to re-explain what you're asking about.

What does digoxin actually do to the heart?
Digoxin slows the heart rate and strengthens contractions — it's used in heart failure and A-fib. But it has a narrow therapeutic window, meaning the safe dose range is small. Too much = toxicity. Bradycardia is the warning sign.

Track your progress and readiness

After each session, your True Readiness Score updates. You can see which of the eight NCLEX-RN categories you're strongest in, which need more work, and what the system recommends you study next. Progress is designed to answer: "How am I doing, and what should I do next?" — not just show you a chart.
